Melanie Ho, Psy.D.

Melanie HoDr. Ho earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Michigan and her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the Michigan School of Professional Psychology. She is currently completing her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the Michigan School of Professional Psychology.

In practice, Dr. Ho utilizes a humanistic approach to therapy, aiming to create a safe and supportive atmosphere while embracing the diverse life experiences and strengths of each and every individual.

Dr. Ho welcomes the opportunity to work with children, adolescents and adults. She has experience in psychological assessment and individual therapy. Dr. Ho has clinical experience working with children and adolescents who have experienced grief and loss concerns secondary to divorce and family conflict. She also has experience helping children and adolescents with emotional regulation and academic concerns. In addition, Ms. Ho has clinical training in the field of health psychology, which has allowed her to help individuals with weight loss and weight management, and those preparing for and adapting to bariatric surgery. She has also worked with individuals diagnosed with chronic pain caused by injury or illness, utilizing a mind-body approach to dealing with persistent and debilitating pain.

Dr. Ho has researched, presented and published in the areas of effectiveness of psychotherapy, LGBT issues, gender and body image, women’s sexuality and motherhood and postpartum mental health.

Dr. Ho is directly supervised by Dr. Michael Bambery.
