Nike completed an internship and post-MSW graduate fellowship at the University Center for the Child and Family (UCCF), where she worked with a wide range of clients, including young children, adolescents, families, young adults, and couples.
Nike uses an integrative approach to psychotherapy, and draws from a number of different evidence-based psychotherapy modalities. These include: cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy for adolescents, mindfulness based approaches, motivational interviewing, psychodynamic therapy, parent behavior management training, play therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Exposure/Response Prevention.
Nike enjoys working with a variety of clients, from early childhood through adulthood. She is particularly well skilled in working with depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorders, adjustment disorders, parenting challenges, disruptive behaviors, and issues of identity related to race, ethnicity and religious affiliation. In her work with children, adolescents, adults, and families, Nike uses a combination of approaches to help clients address their concerns.
Nike believes that mental health exists on a continuum, and that everyone falls somewhere on that continuum. She believes in normalizing mental health challenges, and meeting clients where they are at, in order to help them get to where they would like to be. Nike uses an empathic, collaborative approach to psychotherapy, and provides a nurturing, supportive therapeutic milieu, where clients can address the obstacles that they face, and feel empowered to become stewards of their own wellbeing.
In addition to working at Arbor Psychology Group, Nike holds a full time appointment with the University of Michigan’s Regional Alliance for Healthy Schools. Within Michigan Medicine, Nike works primarily with adolescents, on a wide variety of issues.
Nike is passionate about mental health and wellbeing in all individuals. She is excited about the prospect of working with you at Arbor Psychology Group.
