Tia Dickerson, M.A., LLMFT
Tia Dickerson, M.A., LLMFT, earned her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Amridge University. As a limited licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Tia is committed to helping individuals, couples, and families experience healthier relationships. Tia utilizes a broad range of therapeutic techniques that are empirically sound with the flexibility to meet the goals of her clients. This is achieved by utilizing one’s current strengths at the same time discovering, and then implementing, new skills in which a client can employ as they move forward on their journey of life. Tia can help you improve your relationships by developing a stronger foundation of communication, trust, and acceptance.
Whether working with individuals (children, adolescents, and adults), couples, or families, Tia views all difficulties systemically and works to shift both individual and relational patterns to provide comprehensive, long-lasting results. She understands that one size does not fit all and can tailor the treatment plan to fit each client’s unique strengths and challenges. As such, treatment begins with a focus on direct, behavioral change and moves into deeper analysis of emotion, thoughts, and past experiences only as needed.
When people experience trauma, chronic life stressors, and /or destructive relationship patterns, life can quickly become overwhelming and unmanageable. Tia’s passion is to bring healing to people who have endured great hardship and restore wholeness and joy to their lives. Tia helps children, adolescents, adults, and families navigate troubled times, and find healthy perceptions of themselves.
Additionally, Tia has years of experience working with adolescents and adults who have experienced various forms trauma, including domestic violence, survivors of human trafficking, prison, and other institutionalized systems.
As a nurturing and caring professional, Tia assists her clients in reaching their life goals both individually and relationally.
