Fellowship Experience

This fellowship focuses on deepening and advancing therapeutic skills and diagnostic/clinical assessment/conceptualization

Fellows will provide individual therapy for a wide range of concerns for children and adolescents. Fellows will receive supervision grounded in evidence-based strategies including cognitive-behavioral therapy, exposure/response-prevention, family-based therapy for anorexia nervosa, acceptance-commitment therapy, and internal family systems.

Fellows have flexibility and can give input on how to balance their caseload & what types of concerns and populations they want to work with.

Fellows will solidify their knowledge and experience in general clinical practice- providing therapy to children and adolescents with anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism-spectrum disorders/social delays, and emotion-regulation/behavioral challenges.

In addition, fellows will have opportunities to develop specialized expertise in eating and feeding disorders, if desired. Fellows will have the option to receive direct supervision in evidence-based treatments for youth and adults with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and other specified eating disorders of different levels of severity. Opportunities will include options to focus on parent training/coaching, as well as family systems alignment around the client and their illness. This opportunity will also include training in consultation and multi-disciplinary work with nutrition and medical team services outside of the practice. As part of our Multidisciplinary Feeding Program, Fellows will collaborate within teams, including speech-language therapists and occupational therapists, to provide coordinated care for families who are struggling with ARFID/feeding concerns. This may include direct service to children/adolescents or working directly with parents for behavior management or both.

Fellows will also have the opportunity to conduct comprehensive psycho-educational assessments. Following this, they will develop synchronized care plans for families in conjunction with other team members.

Fellowship Experience

This fellowship focuses on therapy and diagnostic/clinical assessment. There is not a testing component. The fellow will provide individual therapy for adults (only) or adolescents/adults with a wide-range of concerns. In addition to solidifying knowledge and experience in general clinical practice, fellows may choose to gain specialization in eating disorders, couples therapy, trauma, perinatal/postpartum concerns, or OCD/exposure/response prevention. In addition, fellows may have opportunities to lead/co-lead group therapy sessions.
