Amy Shoemaker, MA, LPC

Amy ShoemakerAmy Shoemaker, MA, LPC received her Bachelor’s in Psychology and Master’s Degree in Counseling Education at Western Michigan University. Following 4 years working as a mental health counselor and her own life experiences, Amy was eager to continue her education completing a 300-hour coursework program becoming certified as a Mindfulness and Meditation instructor through the Mclean Meditation Institute. 

Amy has extensive knowledge in evidenced-based treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Her true passion is helping individuals heal from their underlying struggles and move to a place of positive change and well-being. Amy has found that through combining CBT and various mindfulness strategies she can help guide individuals to uncover their strengths while developing a variety of helpful tools to cope with some of life’s most challenging experiences. She understands that beginning therapy can often seem overwhelming. Amy provides a sense of safety and comfort that empowers individuals to open up and work towards their personal goals. Her main career goal is to help clients identify how to use these strengths to live a happy and healthy life of their choosing. Amy specializes in working with grief, anxiety, depression, and life transitions.  She works with teens, young adults, and adults.

Amy lives in Novi where she enjoys finding fun new ways to stay active and any excuse to travel.
