Stephanie Huhn MA, LLP, CBIS, CAADC, CCM, ACCTS

Stephanie is a master’s-level licensed psychologist (LLP) who has been practicing psychotherapy for over 10 years. Stephanie works with adolescents and adults and has a passion for helping guide her clients through their own personal journey of growth and change, assisting them with reaching their goals and living their best lives. Stephanie completed her bachelor’s degree at Michigan State University and holds a master’s degree in clinical and humanistic Psychology from The Michigan School of Psychology. She has worked in various treatment settings including neurorehabilitation and dual-diagnosis programs, in community mental health, within Michigan’s criminal justice system, in substance use disorder and co-occurring treatment programs, and in private practice.

Stephanie has a holistic and eclectic approach to therapy, utilizing a variety of evidenced-based techniques to assist her clients in meeting their goals, fulfilling their potential, and maximizing their well-being. She believes that every individual is unique, and she strives to provide a therapeutic environment of value, respect, empathy, and acceptance. Stephanie is trained in, and often incorporates, the following approaches, methods, and strategies in therapy sessions: Attachment-Based Therapy, Trauma-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Grounding and Relaxation Training, Relapse Prevention, Psychoeducation, Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), Somatic Therapy, Strength-Based Therapy, Existential Therapy and a Family Systems Approach. Stephanie works with adults of all ages and adolescents (15+) and she specializes in treating complex trauma, PTSD, anxiety disorders, depression, other mood disorders, substance use disorders, behavioral addictions, adjustment disorder and grief and loss issues.

In addition to helping individuals through psychotherapy, Stephanie has a passion for public speaking and providing education on mental health issues. She enjoys speaking to groups, both large and small, live and virtual, and often presents at local and national conferences and events. Stephanie is a keynote speaker for the 2021 Michigan Public Health Conference has been a guest expert on Fox 2 News Detroit, sharing information on coping with the stressors of the Covid-19 Pandemic. Stephanie also provides educational seminars for other mental health professionals and is a continuing education trainer for The Community Mental Health Association of Michigan (CMHA).

In addition to her LLP licensure, Stephanie holds specialized certifications in trauma, addiction, brain injury and case management. She is an Advanced Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist (ACCTS), a Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS), a Certified Case Manager (CCM) and a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC).
