Ashley Tomaszewski, LMSW
“We rise by lifting others.”
This quote has always spoken to me and really captures how I approach therapy. My hope is that everyone I work with feels deeply understood, validated, and safe to show up as their authentic self.
My therapeutic style is primarily psychodynamic, meaning I’m interested in exploring how your past experiences and relationships shape who you are today. I also integrate parts from DBT, CBT, and trauma informed approaches to help you build insight and understanding to yourself, improve emotional regulation, and learn practical coping strategies. I strive to maintain a neurodivergent-affirming space, where differences in how we think, feel, and connect are honored rather than pathologized.
I have extensive experience working in psychiatric settings with both children and adults, which has given me a deep respect for the resilience people carry, even in their most difficult moments. I am passionate about working with individuals who have experienced trauma, who are neurodiverse, or who are seeking a greater understanding of themselves as they work toward making meaningful changes.
In addition to my clinical work, I’m a supervisor for Limited Licensed Social Workers, and I’m passionate about providing support for new social workers. I also serve as a delegate for NASW Michigan, where I have the privilege of helping shape the future of our field and advocate for meaningful change in our community.
