Becky Gracia – LMSW

Becky Gracia (she, her, hers) is a fully licensed clinical social worker in the state of Michigan. She received her Master’s degree from Boston College School of Social Work. Becky has over 16 years of experience working with children, adolescents, young adults and families. Prior to moving into private practice, Becky worked primarily in school-based settings, both public and private, in Chicago, Boston and Washington, DC.

Becky has worked with children and adolescents to address a wide range of concerns and issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, social skills impairments, ADHD and other learning disabilities. Becky has also worked extensively with parents through family therapy and parent coaching and has presented on topics related to childhood mental health, child development and mindfulness.

Becky uses a variety of experiential and expressive therapies as the main tools in her therapeutic work. These include art, mindfulness, nature and adventure-based interventions. She believes that people of all ages are able to express, communicate and process emotions and experiences through hands-on experiences and she brings this belief into her work. Interventions are tailored to each client and incorporate a variety of theoretical frameworks, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, exposure therapy, mindfulness, and skills-based work. Becky has trained with Mindful Schools, Yoga 4 Classrooms, and MindBe.

Becky strives to build a positive, supportive, and trusting relationship with each of her clients. She believes therapy should be a collaborative process and welcomes the opportunity to work with you. She currently sees clients for outdoor-based sessions. In addition, she is now offering school-based services, including individual therapy for elementary and middle-school students, and mindfulness-based programming for preschoolers in the Ann Arbor area.
