Friendship and Social Skills Group
Skills focused on:
- Identifying emotions in oneself and others
- Exploring what makes a good friend
- Perspective taking
- Social skills (such as making conversation, active listening, social engagement, reading social cues, etc.).
Each week will include the introduction of a topic/skill, activities to reinforce the concepts, a related craft or activity, and the opportunity to practice skills in unstructured play.
There will be TWO Friendship Groups offered this summer for different ages. Please see details below for each age group.
Ages 6-8
Dates:
6 weeks, beginning the week of July 8th – the week of August 12th
Times:
Mondays 5:30pm-6:30pm & Wednesdays 1:30pm-2:30pm*
*NOTE: there will not be a Wednesday session on July 31st – there will instead be a session on Wednesday, August 21st
Fee: $300 for six 60-minute sessions
Please Note: This group is private pay only. We will not be accepting insurance or providing superbills. This is a skills-based group and is not eligible for insurance reimbursement.
Ages 9-11
Dates:
6 weeks, beginning the week of July 8th – the week of August 12th
Times:
Tuesdays 4:00pm-5:00pm & Wednesdays 9:00am-10:00am
Fee: $300 for six 60-minute sessions
