Elise Donaghy, Ph.D.
Elise Donaghy (she, her, hers) is a licensed psychologist in the state of Michigan. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Michigan with a minor in Community Action and Social Change. Driven by her passion for understanding and addressing the needs of children with academic and behavioral challenges, Elise pursued advanced studies in School Psychology, earning her PhD from Central Michigan University in 2017. Throughout her graduate training, Elise’s coursework and experiences focused on assessment and treatment for children with academic and behavioral disorders with a particular emphasis on working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). In addition to her experience in school-based settings, Elise has worked in various treatment centers providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to young children with ASD and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Elise’s more recent experience working as a School Psychologist has given her a strong understanding of school-based intervention supports including Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), 504-accomodation plans, and early childhood special education programs.
Elise’s current clinical work focuses primarily on developmental and psycho-educational assessment for preschool and school age children/adolescents. This includes referral questions regarding possible ADHD, ASD, learning disabilities, and other social and behavioral concerns. Elise is passionate about helping children/adolescents thrive at home, school, and in their relationships with others. She uses psychological assessment to better understand children’s strengths as well as areas they are experiencing challenges. She focuses on gathering assessment data that can help identify appropriate intervention strategies and help gain a better understanding of how each child thinks and learns.
