Melissa Rosenblum, Ph.D.
Dr. Melissa Rosenblum (she, her, hers) is a licensed psychologist in the state of Michigan with over 20 years of clinical experience. She holds a doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Kentucky and completed her post doctoral fellowship at the University of Michigan. She is an Adjunct Physician Instructor for The University of Michigan Medical School- Department of Psychiatry. She has held positions in community mental health clinics, college mental heath, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, and private practice settings.
Dr. Rosenblum practices from an integrative perspective, drawing from approaches and techniques that best fit the needs of each client. She recognizes the courage it takes to seek mental health care. She provides a safe, compassionate space for individuals to explore their areas of concern and identify their vision for a positive therapeutic outcome. Treatment goals are established collaboratively with an emphasis on honoring each person’s inherent wisdom and strengths.
Dr. Rosenblum areas of interest include trauma, couples and marital therapy, identity development concerns throughout the lifespan, adjustment issues, and multicultural concerns. Dr. Rosenblum has significant experience in addressing anxiety and depression, relationship concerns, grief and loss, life transitions, sexual, gender and other identity concerns. She is an LGBTQ+ affirming therapist.
Dr. Rosenblum is a seasoned couples and marital therapy specialist. She is passionate about the work itself, and the intergenerational healing that can result from improving the connection between two partners. She primarily draws from an imago therapy perspective, an approach that aims to help couples increase emotional connectedness by creating emotional safety and intentional communication between partners.
