Katie Schrems, MA, CCC-SLP, Multidisciplinary Program Director

Katie Schrems (she, her, hers) is a licensed speech-language pathologist. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Michigan and subsequently graduated with her Masters of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from Eastern Michigan University. She has professional experience working as a part of multidisciplinary teams in outpatient hospital clinics, inpatient rehabilitation centers, private practice clinics, and elementary schools.

With over 8 years of practice in the field, Katie has experience treating both children and adults of all ages. She has participated in specialized, formal continued education in the areas of dysphagia and feeding disorders. She also has extensive experience in working with children with autism spectrum disorders, expressive and receptive language disorders, motor speech and phonological disorders, and fluency disorders.

Katie’s passion is in helping children and their families by providing quality, evidence-based services to help promote and maximize functionality across environments when it comes to communication and feeding. She strives to prioritize building trust with the families that she serves and designs sessions so that children learn through playing and enjoying their time while also setting up natural opportunities to learn and grow.

In her role as Multidisciplinary Program Director, Katie provides support, consultation, and mentorship to the occupational therapists and speech-language therapists at Arbor Psychology Group. She is also responsible for community outreach and program development.

In her free time, Katie enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends, cheering on UofM and Detroit sports teams, traveling, and spending time outdoors.
