Kristen Adams, Ph.D.
Dr. Kristen Adams (she, her, hers) is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Michigan and has over 10 years of clinical experience. She received her Ph.D. in counseling psychology from Loyola University Chicago and her M.Ed. and M.A. in psychological counseling from Teachers College, Columbia University. Kristen completed her predoctoral psychology internship and postdoctoral psychology residency at Arizona State University’s Counseling Services. She is currently employed as an embedded psychologist at University of Michigan’s Counseling and Psychological Services.
Kristen’s areas of interest and specialization include working with adolescents and adults around concerns related to mood, anxiety, life transition and adjustment, identity development, self-confidence, relationships, trauma, and experiences of discrimination and oppression.
Kristen practices from an integrative and collaborative approach. She utilizes a client-centered and interpersonal orientation, taking into account the unique needs of every individual. She aims to foster a warm, compassionate, and safe environment, in a strengths-based and empowering manner, with the hope of helping facilitate personal growth and valued-living.
