Maria Mulhauser

Maria MulhauserĀ (she, her, hers) is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Michigan. She is passionate about helping couples and individuals find relief from emotional distress and live their lives to the fullest. Her strengths-based approach allows clients to harness the tools and strategies they already possess, while working collaboratively to help them find a new way forward.

Maria has experience working with a diverse population to address a wide variety of presenting problems, including depression, anxiety, attachment issues, grief, trauma, and relationship issues. She has previously practiced therapy both in private practice and in a foster care agency setting.

Maria is a certified Imago Relationship therapist. Imago is a couples therapy approach that facilitates emotional connection and effective communication between partners. Maria also uses a variety of other treatment modalities, including cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, and psychodynamic strategies.

Maria strives to cultivate a safe, confidential, and nonjudgmental environment in which clients can feel heard and understood. She is an LBGTQ+ affirming therapist. Maria received her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College. Prior to that, she received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Calvin College.
