School Based Services
Arbor Psychology Group brings comprehensive professional support directly to students in school settings, helping children and adolescents thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Our experienced providers partner with educational institutions throughout Southeast Michigan to deliver services that meet students where they are. Our clinicians are trained to help students navigate difficult emotions, executive functioning difficulties, social skills challenges, speech-language delays, fine motor skills challenges, and behavioral concerns in the context of their daily learning environment.
Our licensed mental health therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists provide support designed to integrate seamlessly with your school’s existing programs and priorities.
Our School-based Services create a seamless connection between families, educators, and clinicians, ensuring that students receive consistent, effective care in an environment they already know and trust.
What We Offer
Individual Therapy
Our licensed therapists provide one-on-one support for students experiencing anxiety, depression, emotional regulation difficulties, and other mental health concerns. Sessions are scheduled during the school day to minimize disruption to family routines and allow for easy collaboration with educators. There is no cost to the school for this service.
Mindfulness-Based Social-Emotional Learning (SEL)
We offer interactive, engaging mindfulness programming designed to help students develop emotional awareness, stress management skills, and resilience. These research-backed practices can be delivered in individual, small group, or classroom formats. Weekly lessons are delivered flexibly with input from classroom teachers and administrators, with programs ranging from 6 weeks to a full academic year.
Occupational Therapy & Speech- Language Therapy
Our licensed occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists provide individual support during school hours. We address communication difficulties, fine motor challenges, sensory processing concerns, and self-regulation skills. In addition to direct support, our therapists consult with classroom teachers to develop appropriate accommodations and create classroom environments that support each student’s success. There is no cost to the school for these services.
Professional Development
Our team provides specialized training to teachers and administrators regarding students with complex needs, including workshops on supporting neurodiverse learners, effective classroom management, mindfulness for the classroom, and more. We design custom programs tailored to your school’s specific challenges and goals.
Parent Workshops
We lead educational workshops for parents on topics such as supporting anxious children, understanding ADHD and executive functioning, building resilience, developmental expectations, talking to children about scary things, and other topics that are relevant to your school community.
