Parent Group for Anxious Children

This virtual/video group is for parents of children (ages 5-16) who struggle with anxiety. Childhood anxiety can vary in how it presents and what the anxiety is related to. Children may have a fear of a specific thing or situation and/or might have more generalized worries. This group will use Eli Lebowitz’s evidence-based SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) model as a framework to help educate parents about anxiety and accommodating behaviors, support and empower parents to make changes in their behaviors in order to reduce their child’s anxiety, and offer tips and strategies to help parents co-regulate their own emotions. Parents will select one behavior/situation to focus on during the group with the goal of using skills and strategies to continue to help their child(ren) manage other areas of anxiety.
