Erna Chiu, LLMSW

Erna Chiu (she/her/hers) is a limited license social worker in the state of Michigan. She earned her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Michigan. Erna has clinical experience in private practice and ABA settings working with children, adolescents, and young adults with ADHD, autism, anxiety, and depression. She has also worked with youth to target social skills and emotion regulation challenges. Additionally, Erna conducts research at the University of Michigan on resilience and positive parenting interventions.

Erna’s therapeutic approach is integrative and client-centered, combining evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and parent-child therapy approaches. She is passionate about providing neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed, and strengths-based care. Recognizing and celebrating each child’s unique identity, strengths, and goals is central to Erna’s work and she believes in creating a fun, safe, and empowering therapeutic space.

Erna is excited to work collaboratively with children and families to build relationships that support growth, skill-building, and healing.
