Nathan Willette, LMSW

Nathan O. Willette (he, him, his) is a fully licensed clinical social worker in the state of Michigan. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology as well as his Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan. During his undergraduate years, Nathan received a Minor in Community Activism and Social Change, working closely with children from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds in Southeast Michigan. He has experience collaborating with children and families as a camp counselor, youth mentor, and mental health therapist.

Nathan completed his clinical internship at Lincoln Behavioral Services, a Community Mental Health clinic in the Detroit area. Upon completing his internship, he stayed on as a home-based therapist, meeting children and families in a variety of environments including homes, schools, community locations, and outpatient office settings. He has experience treating a wide variety of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, disruptive behaviors, and grief disorders.

Nathan is energetic in his approach and believes in a holistic view of children both as individuals and as members of the various systems that they participate in. Nathan views his role as a collaborative one, in which the child, family, and therapist work together to resolve issues, develop skills, and build resilience. He emphasizes play, joy, and connection as tenants of the therapeutic relationships that he builds. Nathan maintains that therapy can be an enjoyable process, and that people of all ages have the ability to grow, learn, and prosper in a way that best suits their unique strengths.
